Kim Wineland began her trek with horses as a small child dreaming of having horses someday and imagining all the majestic qualities about them. Her experience began when she was 13 years old working with a rental string in the San Fernando Valley. She began showing AQHA Quarter Horses at 15 years old. When she was 19 she worked for the LA Equestrian Center exercising Polo school horses extending her knowledge with a variety of breeds including the thoroughbred. At the same time she had her own business exercising personal horses and came to learn of the need for “good horsemanship”.
Later, living in Aspen, Colorado she enjoyed trail riding through beautiful Colorado mountains with friends. More recently she was a competitive barrel racer for 6 years which was the catalyst to learning the horsemanship she now teaches. For the last 16 years, as an avid learner of good horsemanship techniques, she attended and participated in many clinics with Master Horseman Buck Brannaman and one with the late Master of Horses and Horsemen Ray Hunt. Kim has started colts, worked with problem horses and taught many adults and children how to be better horse people with good ground and riding skills. She has been the 4-H Horse Project Leader in her small community of Acton/Agua Dulce, California for the last 10 years. She is now offering ground workshops and lessons for all people who want to learn a better way to be with their horses.
Lessons given at Horse ETC are taught with a feel for what is best for both the horse and rider together.
Safety of the horse and rider are most important during all lessons. I teach “from the ground up” including skills and information necessary to own your own horse.
At no time will there be a sacrifice of quality in learning for quantity of riding. Horse ETC believes each horse and each human should strive to be the best they can be for each other.
My philosophy: Respect Gods grace and be the best you can be for your horse and yourself in all things you do together.
